Contracts for hospital projects in Essalud in Piura and Chimbote they received a favorable opinion from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, reported Proinversión.
The next step for the execution of these works, which will be carried out as public-private partnerships and which will require an investment of S/1,200 million, is for the contracts to be sent to the Comptroller for approval.
The investment promotion agency recalled that there are four bidders from America and Asia who are interested in carrying out the projects and who have been prequalified.

“The hospital projects of EsSalud Piura and Chimbote will increase access to the specialized services offered to the insured and also include the acquisition and replacement of equipment, the maintenance of hospital infrastructure; as well as the provision of general services and support services in the gray and green robe modality. None of them considers the provision of medical services, since these will continue to be the responsibility of the State, through Essalud”, reported Proinversión.
The cost of both projects will be covered with the contributions of the policyholders, directly benefiting more than 530,000 policyholders in the department of Áncash, and more than 1,100,000 policyholders in the departments of Piura and Tumbes, who will continue to receive regular care. free.
Finally, these projects will generate new direct and indirect jobs, and in terms of jobs for care and non-care personnel at the Chimbote Hospital (796), and at the Piura Hospital (1,234).
