Santo Domingo, DR- The Dr. Hugo Mendoza Pediatric Hospital, after applying for the Ibero-American Quality Award for the second time, has been selected as a finalist in its version corresponding to the year 2022.
The Ibero-American Quality Award, launched in 1999, is a project attached to the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, coordinated by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and managed by the Ibero-American Foundation for Quality Management (FUNDIBEQ).
This is a prize of prizes, since in order to apply, the National Quality Prize must have been obtained in one of the countries under the influence of the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Upon receiving the Ibero-American Award for Quality, in 2020, the Hugo Mendoza Hospital became the second organization of the Dominican public administration to obtain the Ibero-American gold from 1999 to 2020. In case of obtaining it again, it would be the first organization in the country in win it twice.
The delivery of the Ibero-American Quality Award will take place within the framework of the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in the Dominican Republic in March 2023, with President Luis Abinader Corona as host.
The Dr. Hugo Mendoza Pediatric Hospital is the most awarded public hospital at a national and international level. In the National Quality Award, he obtained a silver medal in 2015, a gold medal in 2016 and the Grand National Quality Award in 2017.
In July of this year, the Hugo Mendoza Hospital led the No. 1 position in the ranking of the main hospitals at the national level, according to the Public Administration Monitoring System (SISMAP), organized by the National Health Service and the Ministry of Health. Public administration.
