Abdo Benítez and Hugo Velázquez, president and vice president of the Republic respectively, participated in a party rally on Monday night. “What important works did they leave us? A viaduct that bears the name of Rodrigo Quintana and that floods every time it rains. It is the great work that they leave us because the Metrobús does not exist. What can those who want to return to power talk about? What do they want to come back for?” he criticized.

At another time, he urged the Colorado people not to let Paraguay fall into the hands of the mafias.
“There are people who are not interested in the nation and who only destroy the future. That is the great challenge. The party does not have to shelter criminals and gangsters. The Colorado people will have faith if we speak to them honestly and firmly,” he concluded.

Rocío Duarte, a political scientist, expressed that there is diplomatic pressure from the United States. So one of the axes of that country’s cooperation has to do with the fight against corruption and drug trafficking.
“Abdo feels supported or encouraged by this diplomatic pressure and it serves as a step to focus criticism on his adversary Horacio Cartes,” he said.

Clara Martínez, political scientist and communicator, pointed out that the “Concordia Colorada” only lasted until the last municipal elections and that now the divisions and internal conflicts began.
