The Stations of the Cross, one of the most representative moments during the celebration of Holy Weekwill be held again this year on Avenida de Mayo, in the City of Buenos Aires.
The procession will carry the motto “Christ wants peace”, which is also commemorated during the Easter. Also, for this event of the Holy Weekwill have the participation of the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mario Poli.
This traditional moment of Holy Week will be held again in the City, after being suspended for two years by the coronavirus pandemic, since the station of the cross brings together hundreds of parishioners.
The event will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will take the intersection of Avenida de Mayo and Bernardo de Irigoyen, where faithful will carry a cross 15 meters long and weighing 130 kilos on their backs.
In addition, the parishioners will carry another cross with the same characteristics that will be full of lights, “we take them out on the street again after two years of the pandemic and being inside the temple.”
The procession, which will cover at least 5 blocks, will end in the Plaza de Mayo in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral, where the Archbishop of Buenos Aires and Primate of Argentina will speak.
