Among the arrests, he pointed out the leader of the Northeast Cartel, Juan Gerardo Treviño Chávez, alias “El Huevo”; José Alfredo N, “El Contador”, of the Gulf Cartel; José Bryan Salgueiro Zepeda and Antonio Leonel CM, “El 300”, operator and leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, respectively; Aldrin Miguel Jarquín, “El Chaparrito”, leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), and Saúl ‘N’, alias “El Chopa”, operator of the same criminal organization that was killed last weekend.
“Only mentioning the seven main ones, we have had a relevant arrest almost every week because they are relevant characters for those organizations,” said Ebrard Casaubón in a conference on the progress of the Understanding.
The Bicentennial Understanding is a comprehensive long-term strategy that will guide binational actions in search of security, health and development for both countries. It incorporates, in the case of insecurity, the priorities of each country, emphasizing the use of intelligence against organized crime and cooperation in law enforcement.
The action plan consists of 102 actions, with goals and compliance dates to advance the results until 2024. To date, according to Foreign Minister Ebrard, progress has been made in nine more achievements, in addition to high-level arrests .
