The mayor of La Granja and president of the Christian Democracy (DC), Philip Delpin, addressed the community’s relationship with the government. In this regard, he pointed out that, in the event that the President Gabriel Boric invite the DC to be part of the Executive, they will analyze it.
“We are fully willing to be able to talk with the government,” Delpin said in conversation with The Counter at La Clave. “Our parliamentarians are in an attitude of being able to collaborate,” added the communal chief.

“We have not asked to enter the government nor are we going to ask, but the government knows that it can count on our parliamentarians in everything that benefits the country,” he added.
“If tomorrow President Boric considers that the Christian Democracy should be invited to form part of his government, we are going to discuss it, we are going to analyze it,” he added.
However, he said that “at the moment we are comfortable without being in government and maintaining our independence”
New Constitution
Regarding the draft of the new Constitution, Delpin pointed out that “we are analyzing it” and maintained that the DC will issue its definition when the definitive text is ready, on July 4.
Regarding the exit plebiscite, which will be held on September 4, he indicated that “100% of the Christian Democrats voted for Approval and also 100% are for a new Constitution. Which Constitution? That is where we are in that discussion.”
“I would have liked greater clarity, that it was not so maximalist, that not all the issues could be dealt with.”
“Abortion within the Constitution was a gross error. I think the constituents made a mistake there. That is a matter of law, not for it to have been in the Constitution.”
