Helicopter overturned after trying to get water from the Duqueco River to fight forest fire in Los Angeles

Around 6:00 p.m. yesterday, a helicopter crashed in the Duqueco River after trying to draw water to fight a forest fire in Los Angeles. The pilot managed to get out of the aircraft and was transferred to the Base Hospital of the same commune.

An aerial image showed the conditions in which the helicopter was left, resulting in almost complete destruction.

In a conversation with Biobío, the regional director of Conaf in Biobío, Francisco Pozo, commented that the pilot of the aircraft is in good condition and that the General Directorate of Civil Aviation will be in charge of investigating what happened.
