The Ministry of Health and Sports reported this Thursday that it will form a group of specialists to assess the situation and the condition of the 11-year-old girl, who became pregnant after being raped by her stepfather’s father. He also announced that they found a place where the minor can be treated.
“The Ministry of Health and Sports communicates (…) that it has proceeded to the formation of the multidisciplinary medical team made up of 10 professionals and high-level specialists for the scientific medical assessment of the pregnant minor,” stated in a statement.
“Likewise, a place has been identified where the girl could be cared for to safeguard her health and life,” he adds.
The composition of this commission responds to the ruling of the First Constitutional Chamber of the Departmental Court of Justice of La Paz, which resolved this Tuesday to partially grant the guardianship requested by the Ombudsman’s Office and the transfer of the girl to a place where she is not exposed to influences.

Specialists on the team include psychiatrists, psychologists, gynecologists, social workers, and others.
“The moment in which the group of specialists issue the strictly technical assessment, it will be reported through the competent authority so that both the mother and the girl make an informed decision and in total freedom,” he concludes.
Last week, the Boland de Santa Cruz hospital, where the little girl was referred for an eventual legal interruption of the pregnancy, ordered the medical discharge after a contact of the girl and her family with the Archdiocese of Santa Cruz, which offered shelter in exchange. to suspend the procedure.
Since leaving the health center, the minor has been in a reception center run by the Catholic Church, while different authorities and organizations denounced the situation before the courts and international entities.
