The Roman.- The National Police, through the Eastern Regional Investigation Subdirectorate (Dicrim), clarified the murder of Bárbara Esther Mercedes Febles, alias Yovanni, 53 years old, whose body was found on September 4 of this month, with signs of rape and asphyxiation in a sugarcane field in the Copey batey, El Seibo province.
The detainee, a Haitian motorcycle taxi driver identified as Marino Yan, resident in the Georges neighborhood, confessed to having committed the crime.
Thanks to the images captured by security cameras, the accused was seen transporting the victim as a passenger, which allowed the Dicrim agents to locate and arrest him. In addition, the agents seized the clothes he was wearing on the day of the incident.
Marino Yan is currently being questioned to determine the motive for Yovanni’s murder.
