The president of the Revolutionary Party (PRD) Michael Vargassaid yesterday that in the face of the great discontent that Dominican society has, including the official party, with the government for not having fulfilled its expectations, he will present his presidential candidacy for the 2024 elections.

He affirmed that he aspires to the PRD having a replacement generation, but that until now Haven’t seen that relay.

Likewise, he considered it premature to speak of alliances, indicating that what must be done now is to work so that the PRD is strengthened and plays its role as an opposition party in national politics.

Vargas spoke during a meeting with the PRD Magisterial Front to whom he reminded that to advance you just have to work.

“You all know that there is great discontent in the official party of many of its leaders, but not only that. A large part of society that voted for a change is also disappointed, ”she said.

He added that given this scenario, the political organization that he directs has to play his opposition role.

If I have to pass the first round, we pass it, but we have to do it because my fundamental objective is for the party to become stronger and for us to have a short, medium and long-term process of growth, in the present, in the future and in the future. more distant future,” he said.
