Editorial Radio Panama. Mamerto Hins, 38, was sentenced after proving his responsibility for the crime against Sexual Freedom and Integrity in the form of aggravated rape to the detriment of two minors. The Superior Prosecutor for Indigenous Affairs of the Ngäbe Buglé and Naso Tjer Di Comarca, achieved a conviction of 18 years in prison by means of a penalty agreement.
The investigations of this criminal case were carried out by the prosecutor Larissa Cedeño, who through a series of judicial proceedings managed to prove criminal responsibility, for which reason, after the acceptance of the fact by this person, sentence No. 269 of December 30 was issued. November 2022, where the aforementioned sentenced person declared that she also imposed as an accessory penalty the disqualification from exercising trades or profession in parks, kindergartens, schools, fields or sports centers and surrounding areas, where minors are regularly grouped, for the term of 3 years, once the main sentence has been served.
This is due to events that occurred in September 2019, in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, when Hins, through subpoenaed violence, sexually abused a minor. The same episode was repeated a month later in October 2019, to the detriment of another minor who was taken advantage of and sexually abused.
