Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, inaugurated on Friday (24) new security inspection equipment for access to international boarding.
According to Viracopos administration, the access points and international connections will now operate with equipment that raises the screening standards and the safety level of the airport.
The new security apparatus is similar to those used by TSA at US airports. The equipment includes the latest double vision x -ray technologies, image scanner (AIT – Body Scanner) and detection of explosives traces (ETD), as well as training for agents.
“The beginning of the operation of these new equipment in Viracopos represents a milestone for international civil aviation in Brazil and demonstrates the importance of partnership with the United States. Although our country has a high level of adherence to international standards, from now on we have one of the best airports equipped with the most modern equipment, which will certainly reflect on the improvement of rules and procedures, contributing to the entire Brazilian air transport sector ” , said Viracopos Operations Director Marco Beme.
The ceremony was attended by the US Transportation Safety Administration (TSA), an organ responsible for internal security, as the new equipment was acquired through a donation of US $ 2 million funded by the agency of CONTREMERARISM OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF THE STATE AND FACILITATED BY THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, UNDER THE SUPERVISION AND CONNECTION OF THE NATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION AGENCY (ANAC) AND THE CIVIL AVIATION SECRETARIAT (SAC) OF BRAZIL.
