Havanatur signs with Chinese tour operator to promote trips to Cuba

The Havanatur International Group and the Chinese tour operator Tumei International Travel signed a memorandum of understanding this Wednesday in Havana with the aim of promoting the tourism To Cuba.

Rodrigo Wen, deputy general manager of Tumei, an agency specializing in tourism to Latin America and the Caribbean, said that the island is a priority destination on his agenda, according to stands out the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

Wen visited various destinations known to chinese tourists, such as Havana, Varadero, Cienfuegos and Trinidad; and in a previous visit to this firm, they also discovered points of interest such as Baracoa.

Maria del Carmen Orellana, First Deputy Minister of Tourism on the island, he pointed out that the conditions are created for the reception of Chinese tourists and he mentioned that they have studied the characteristics and demands of the Asian market to welcome visitors with the best disposition.

“We are very happy with the decision to restore travel abroad for Chinese citizens after the long period of the pandemic and the inclusion of the Caribbean country in the nations approved by the Asian giant to resume group visits,” he said, according to a quote. ACN.

Recently, Wen had declared to Latin Press (PL) that the promotion of tourism to Cuba began for them with the opening of a Latin restaurant in Beijing. He also pointed out that Cuba is one of the 20 countries approved by China to resume group tourist outings of its citizens abroad, and they took advantage of that opportunity.

On behalf of the Havanatur Group, Yoelkis Salazar, general director, thanked Tumei for choosing them to carry out the project that will promote the modalities of cultural, heritage and nature tourism, in addition to the sun and beach product.
