The inauguration of the “political and ideological training course” of the MAS in the city of El Alto was the scenario used by the Vice Minister of Government Coordination, Gustavo Torrico, to launch insults against the mayor of that city, Eva Copa.
“If we were so committed to Movement to Socialismexcuse me for the phrase, ‘not even for p… the crazy woman would be mayor of El Alto,’ he said in direct reference to the current mayoral authority of that city, Eva Copa.
This Monday, Torrico attended the event organized by the 15 districts of the MAS in that city and State authorities and the high leadership of the MAS attended. Even the vice president of this party, Gerardo García, made telephone contact with Evo Morales, who also called his party’s unity and projected his campaign for 2025.
“We had not been so militant, you do not see, we have fought pbecause we didn’t like our partner (David) Ramoswe have fought because they were protesting against (Councilwoman) Wilma (Alanoca), we have fought about everything, so where is the militant? they voted against and today we complainno companions, the fight is different in this period”, said Torrico.
It is not the first time that the current deputy minister has referred to El Alto, on June 30 of this year, in another mass act, he said that the MAS lost El Alto “for fools”, because he did not know how to accept party discipline.
In 2020, the former president of Bolivia and president of the MAS, Evo Morales, said that there should be an election among all the candidates in that city and the winner of that “election” was Zacarías Maquera and they relegated Eva Copa, who was the main candidate.
Copa decided to move away from MAS and sought an alliance with another force, Jallalla La Paz, to promote his candidacy. He won the municipality and got two thirds in the Council. Since then there has been a war against him from the middle leadership of masismobecause he had the wisdom to defend the management of Luis Arce, whom he supports to tears.
It also maintains permanent contacts with the vice president, David Choquehuanca, who is in a frank internal campaign to deploy new leadership. In previous statements, he said that it was a mistake by MAS not to have chosen Copa as a candidate for mayor.
