Guaraní leaves Nacional without leadership

In an intense and eventful ending, Guaraní and Nacional tied 1-1 to the happiness of Cerro Porteño, which remains the sole leader of the Championship.

Albos and aurinegros met today at the Rogelio S. Livieres stadium for date 6 of the Clausura 2022 tournament.

Pedro Sarabia’s Nacional arrived with the need to add to be a solitary leader, before a Guaraní who is floundering and indebted to his people.

However, despite the circumstances, the picture was different. Discreet match in wide passages, almost orphan of fantasy and with the teams more busy in prioritizing the mark than kicking the goal.

We had to wait until the 79th minute to experience the supreme emotion of football. Carlos Arrúa, with a bombshell, appeared to open the scoring in favor of the nationalists.

There was an invasion of the field and intense protests by the aurinegra fans, who said everything to their players, after the tricolor goal.

And the threats from the fans seemed to hit the spot, because Guaraní reached parity almost instantly with a header from Néstor Camacho (89′).

The incident lasted until the 102nd minute due to a series of incidents with the angry local fans, who were totally upset by the team’s situation.

Finally, there was no time for more and the distribution of points was finalized.

With this result, Cerro Porteño (13), despite losing the classic, remains at the top, but now with a minimal advantage over its escorts Libertad (12), Olimpia (12) and Nacional (12).

Guaraní, more depressed than ever, sleeps in the penultimate place (5 points).
