Guantanamo celebrates International Dance Day

The province of Guantanamo celebrates International Dance Day this Friday and Saturday with performances by various local professional companies at the Teatro Guaso.

For this Friday, April 21, the Guantanamo installation will receive the Danza Libre company and tomorrow, Saturday, April 22, the Babul Folkloric Ballet will go on stage.

With these functions, the Cuban province shows off the diversity of artistic expressions present in that eastern territory with a range that covers from the folkloric to the most contemporary.

Also as part of the celebrations for the date, the Provincial Council of Performing Arts proposed for the 2023 National Dance Award the outstanding dancer, choreographer and director of Fragmented Dance, Ladislo Navarro Tomasén.

Precisely this dance group opened this Thursday the Guantanamo celebrations for International Dance Day, commemorating its three decades on stage and the 45 years of artistic life of its founder.
