Groups demonstrate for the murder of activist Cecilia Monzón in Puebla

The activist and feminist was shot three times, presumably detonated by two individuals who were following her on a motorcycle.

As a lawyer specializing in criminal law and her experience in public service with a gender perspective, she handled cases of women victims of family violence and abuse, as well as pension and child custody cases.

Monzón carried out a process to demand alimony from Javier López Zavala, who was Secretary of the Interior in Puebla during the government of Mario Marín Torres.

Marín is in prison for ordering the torture and illegal detention of the journalist Lidia Cacho, after she published in The Demons of Eden the former governor’s participation in parties where minors were sexually exploited.
