Greece calls Panama’s inclusion on discriminatory lists “undeserved”

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino held another bilateral meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis, with whom he discussed the Panama Canal projects, the maritime industry, discriminatory lists and the political situation in Venezuela.

President Mulino thanked Mitsotakis for not having Panama on discriminatory lists in Greece. Afterwards, Mitsotakis said that it is “undeserved” that Panama is included on tax lists.

Both heads of state discussed the facilities that the Panama Canal offers to the maritime world, as well as the projects for this route to remain competitive.

Mitsotakis said his government’s plan is to turn Greece into a major logistics hub to complement Panama.

The meeting addressed the issue of illegal migration through Darien and the impact of the Venezuelan crisis on the region and other parts of the world.
