Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo will have a physical headquarters in the city of Córdoba, confirmed the province, after a meeting between the organization’s local reference, Sonia Torres, and Governor Juan Schiaretti.
Sources from the provincial government indicated that the search will begin for an establishment where the human rights institution can carry out its activity, as is the case in other parts of the country.
Likewise, Schiaretti and Torres verified the development of the Program for the Digitalization of Birth Certificates by Identity, an initiative that is carried out from the agreement signed between the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Association Abuelas de Plaza of May.
The objective of the program is to conclude with the digitization of the records to help in the task of locating and identifying the identities stolen during the last civic-military dictatorship.
This task is carried out by interns belonging to the National University of Córdoba (UNC).
