This Wednesday, the governor of Arequipa, Kimmerlee Gutierrez, gave a long interview to a radio medium, but with few convincing proposals. The highest authority also referred to the complaint linked to alleged ghost workers and their efforts to have a group of personnel close to the Regional Government of Arequipaknown as The minions.
Gutiérrez explained to Radio Yaraví that his management went through several problems and that the solutions could not be obtained from one moment to the next.
“We are working in a transparent manner, one of our objectives is to recover the image of the regional government, also reactivate the works, and efficiently manage the public budget. Yes, work is being done, this is not seen overnight. In six months miracles cannot be achieved, but we can reach specific goals”, he argued.
As it is recalled, in December 2021, Gutiérrez assumed the position of governor after the imprisonment of Elmer Caceres Llica. Eight months after this change, the health sector has become chaotic in the region due to the constant protests of workers due to the imposition of officials by Gutiérrez, such as the doctor Cristian Nova as manager, and a deficient system for appointment delivery, especially at the Honorio Delgado Hospital.
Gutiérrez commented that they were trying to find a solution to these problems, but ironically contradicted himself by indicating that, for example, Nova would continue in office with prior evaluation and the doctor Juan Carlos Noguera, director of the Honorio Delgado Hospital, would remain in this position.
Minions and ghost workers
Kimmerlee Gutiérrez was consulted about the complaint of ghost workers in the GRA who received salaries after the alleged request of the worker Adriana Muñoz Mendiz to Adrián Enríquez Medrano, supervisor of a work in the San Gregorio-La Pampa sector. The worker requested that these two people be included in the tasks for which they later received S/ 1,779 and S/ 1,791.
“I know that, in this case, this complaint, it seems, lacked information. We are going to wait for the official documentation to arrive at the regional government of Arequipa. Let’s do an investigation. I don’t know what the lady (Adriana Muñoz Mendiz) does, “she explained, indicating that she knows Muñoz, but she is not her friend.
Muñoz was made visible by this means, as part of the circle of one of the governor’s assistants, Leonidas Medina Ancasi. They shared a dance academy with Medina and several young GRA workers, called The minions.
When asked about the work of Medina Ancasi, the regional authority defended him again, stating that he supports the youth, but does not know how much he earns.
“I am young and I believe a lot in young people. (Leonidas Medina) is a trustworthy person, he accompanies me to events. He is like an assistant, I have no idea (how much he earns), “he justified himself.
