The Governor of the Metropolitan Region, Claudio Orrego, referred to the frontal system that will reach the MR. The regional authority recommended that the population arrive “earlier at home” and “not go out at night”, in case it is not necessary.
“Probably the most complex part of the night is the topic of the winds. They have been reinforced, with all the electricity supply companies, work crews in case of outages and a reporting system for claims,” said Orrego.
“We ask people to go home earlier and, hopefully, if it is not necessary, not to go out at night because we have many trees that are going to fall and power outages in the city,” he added.
For his part, the regional director of the National Emergency Office (Onemi), Miguel Muñoz, pointed out that “the fort should leave between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.”.
