Budget 2023
This Thursday morning, the vice president-elect, Geraldo Alckmin, members of the transition team and PT parliamentarians met with the general rapporteur of the Joint Budget Committee, Senator Marcelo Castro (MDB-PI).
A proposed amendment to the Constitutionwhich is being called the Emergency Transition PEC, is the bet of the elected president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to make possible the payment of campaign promises, such as the Auxílio Brasil of R$ 600, starting in January 2023. The text, which will be built until next Tuesday (8), makes the spending ceiling more flexible with unavoidable expenses, such as the income transfer program.
Senator Marcelo Castro said that Lula’s campaign promises do not fit into the budget proposal for 2023, put together by the government of Jair Bolsonaro. “Everyone knows that there is no resource for Popular Pharmacy and that resources for indigenous health, immunobiologicals and vaccines have been cut. The Budget is already in deficit by itself. For the ninth consecutive year, we are budgeting with a deficit of approximately R$ 65 billion “, said.
