President Jair Bolsonaro published, in Official Diary of the Union today (31) a series of decrees which, upon request, dismiss ministers and secretaries, opening up to them the possibility of running for public office in the next elections.
At the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations, Minister Marcos César Pontes was dismissed from his post. In his place, Paulo César Rezende Alvim was appointed. Rogério Marinho leaves the Ministry of Regional Development, a portfolio headed by Daniel de Oliveira Duarte Ferreira.
The Ministry of Citizenship will be in charge of Ronaldo Vieira Bento, who will take over from João Roma. Damares Alves leaves the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, which will now have Cristiane Rodrigues Britto as minister.
In the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Minister Tereza Cristina gives place to Marcos Montes Cordeiro, and in the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Onyx Lorenzoni was replaced by José Carlos Oliveira. At the Ministry of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas leaves and Marcelo Sampaio takes his place.
The Ministry of Tourism will be led by Carlos Alberto Gomes de Brito, who replaces Gilson Machado. Linked to the portfolio, the Special Secretariat for Culture also has changes, with the departure of secretary Mário Frias, replaced by Hélio Ferraz de Oliveira.
Decrees were also published altering the heads of the Secretariat of Government, a portfolio until then occupied by Flávia Carolina Péres (Flávia Arruda), which was replaced by Célio Faria Júnior; and the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), with the dismissal of director-general Alexandre Ramagem Rodrigues.
