The Government announced that the companies or labor establishments that determined the suspension of activities in the department of Santa Cruz they cannot impose forced vacations, discounts for non-attendance, licenses without pay or compensation for working hours.​

These companies “nor can they make discounts in the remuneration or salary of the workers. If these occur, they will be considered as illegal discounts.”.

The notice was issued after Santa Cruz began an indefinite strike on October 22 in demand of the census in 2023, which caused several companies to decide to suspend activities partially or totally.
