Government presented the Development Plan to the economic commissions

After the filing of the project of the National Development Plan 2022-2026 “Colombia world power of life” on February 6, and the appointment of coordinators and speakers for discussion last week, the Plan was presented to the third and fourth committees of the Senate and Chamber.

The director of the National Planning Department (DNP), Jorge Iván González, presented the general aspects of the project, and highlighted the participatory construction that had the articlesboth due to the binding regional dialogues that were held throughout the country, as well as the comments issued by the National Planning Council and the public hearings in the departments.

“Now that Congress has the floor, I tell you, we deliver the expectations of a large part of the population in an orderly and hierarchical manner around five major transformations. We have made an effort to avoid sectorization as much as possible and we have made an enormous effort to prioritize projectsGonzalez said.

The director of National Planning also said that from the Government it is expected that in these debates in Congress the big bets and projects will be maintainedand that regional and partisan interests be articulated around strategic projects. “We all know that it is difficult, but it is a challenge that we all have”, Indian.

Among the issues that Gonzalez also mentioned is the importance of strategically taking advantage of income from royalties, which for the biennium represent resources of $3.2 trillion, to finance large projects that have an impact on science and technology.

In addition, he mentioned that the main problem for the development of the country is land use planning and the development of the agricultural sector.

“This country has environmental assets, it has environmental wealth that it offers to all of humanity. In this sense, Colombia can offer the entire world a change in perspective from this country. Environmental assets can contribute to climate stability and the energy transformation of the planet. We are power because we have not developed the possibilities that we have”, Gonzalez said.
