Government expands Solidarity Income program starting in March

In the midst of his state visit to Europe, President Iván Duque confirmed this Friday that the Solidarity Income social program will be expanded in order to benefit nearly 4 million vulnerable families in the country. The tour will start the first week of March.

(Solidarity Income Transfers will rise 60% for needy families).

“We have great news in terms of social policy: we are going to materialize an increase in beneficiaries of #IngresoSolidario and thus exceed 4 million households. This shift, which will begin the first week of March, will allow us to continue supporting, with resources, the most vulnerable”, Duke stated.

The program will go from helping 3 million households to benefiting 4,085,000.

“The targeting for the expansion of coverage will focus on households living in extreme poverty, according to information from Sisbén IV (Group A). It will allow at least 30% of the new beneficiaries to be women. This is in addition to the 64.13% of women heads of households who are currently holders of the program”, assured Social Prosperity in a statement.

It should be noted that, with respect to the groups, the Sisbén has classified them as follows: group A are those households that live in extreme poverty; in group B are the families in conditions of moderate poverty and group C are the vulnerable people.

Thus, the entity assured that in March, April and May the beneficiaries will receive 160,000 pesos. As of June, the payment will be differential and will depend on the number of members of the household and the poverty levels.

(Of social transfers, 40% have occurred in a pandemic).

In other words, families living in extreme poverty will have an increase of up to 60% in what they receive monthly.

Now, in case you want to verify if you are a beneficiary of the program, you can follow these steps:

one) Go to the Solidarity Income web page and log in at the top right of the site.

two) Enter your personal data.

3) Click on the button ‘Check drafts and beneficiaries’.

Keep in mind that to be part of the Solidarity Income you do not have to carry out any registration process, there are no raffles, or intermediaries, since the beneficiaries are selected based on the information registered in the Sisbén.

If a user received the aid during the first payments, but when consulting he no longer appears as a beneficiary, it is advisable to file a written request addressed to Social Prosperity, attaching a copy of his identity document to verify the case in depth.

On the other hand, the draft can be received through a bank account or a financial platform such as Nequi, MOVii or Daviplata. If you do not have these tools, you can go to any point of SuperGIROS and its allied network.
