The Government abandoned any negotiation with the group of peasants who arrived from Pailón, in Santa Cruz. The Vice Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, said that the Government has already spoken with the leadership of the sector in Santa Cruz.

The leaders are in Santa Cruz, the president has met with them (…), the organizations respond to a structure and who these structures are made up of, that is, centrals, federations and the confederation, so it is being handled in that area, that is very clear to him and the president has said it today”, Alcón said Tuesday night, when the journalists asked him about the protest that the peasants who are related to the Government and are two blocks from the Casa Grande have.

On Monday, the peasant column arrived at the seat of Government after a 29-day walk from Santa Cruz to La Paz, demanding the titling of their lands, the removal of the director of INRA, a new Land Law and review of the reserved area status of certain concessions.

The leadership that is in La Paz demanded a meeting with the authorities and so far they have not received any response. One of the leaders reported that they were asked to talk with the president in Santa Cruz, “but the dialogue in Santa Cruz was when we were on the roadnow we have arrived, we are here and we have to meet with the president”, he insisted.

The peasant column decided to spend the night in tents on Ayacucho street, which is the main access to the Casa Grande del Pueblo, they set up camp on that road and they did not try to pass towards their objective; while the Police set up a barricade with a contingent of troops to protect the place.

“The president has met with the East Bloc which is made up of the intercultural, by the Single Federation, the Bartolinas and we repeat, the land must fulfill the social economic function”, argued the deputy minister as a conclusion of what will happen in the future.
