Government established the reduction of 3 pesos in the price of gasoline in October

The Executive Power, through the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, decided to lower the price of gasoline by 3 pesos, starting at midnight on October 1, and maintain those of diesel and supergas. The figures reflect the variation in fuel values reflected in the import parity price indicator (PPI) for the last month.

In the case of gasoline, the decision responds to the result of the tariff policy that reflects the evolution of the international market.

As for diesel, the Government decided to maintain its value beyond the fact that the indicator marked an increase close to one peso, which was aligned with the PPI. The measure is based on the Executive’s commitment to support economic recovery and with the aim of minimizing the impact of rising prices of this energy resource on production chains.

Supergas, for its part, will continue with its unchanged price, which will be noticeably lower than that of the international market.

The interim Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Walter Verri, said at a press conference that the decision on the value of fuel vindicates the new pricing system. “In 30 days we are announcing two consecutive casualties, and if this continues to happen, we will continue to do so,” he said.

In addition, he added that the Government acts based on transparency when setting prices. “We have to make Ancap competitive and take care of the cash without committing excesses”, he concluded.

The new values will take effect from midnight on October 1, 2022.
