The productive community social economic model implemented during the different government efforts of the Movement to Socialism (MAS) it is in force, it is successful and it has improved the quality of life of Bolivian families, affirmed the Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada. Thus, the authority responded to the criticisms made by the president of Cainco, Fernando Hurtado, of the government’s model, indicating that “it was from the past.”

“Since we resumed our model, poverty and inequalities are being reduced again, therefore it is a successful economic model, which balances the relationship between the different forms of economic organization, in which the State has a predominant role.” This model “is not going to leave the care of the historically unsatisfied needs of the population in the hands of the market.”, the minister told Bolivia TV.

The invisible hand operates to take the wealth out of working people and into the pockets of a few. It is an absolute fallacy that the market is going to solve the problems of the Bolivian people,” she stressed.

The authority made these statements after the re-elected president of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services and Tourism of Santa Cruz (Cainco), Fernando Hurtado, on April 1, said in the act of his inauguration, and in front of Minister Néstor Huanca , Productive Development and Plural Economy, which “The economic model propagated by the Government is from the past”.

“The final effect on our economy It will depend, in addition to the duration and intensity of the war, on the capacity of the Government to adapt its model to the new realities and implement policies that respond to the needs of households and businesses,” said the leader.

The head of Cainco noted thate, at a time when the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine are having an impact on the economy of the world and of Bolivia, the administration of Luis Arce spends as if the country had the income of 2014, and questioned the responsibility of the Government for the “abusive inspections and disproportionate fines”, which cause the closure of companies; by restrictions on private sector exports; due to the imposition of wage increases and due to the inefficiency generated by the presence of the State in the economy.

Meanwhile, a government thinks only in the short term and in the votes it needs to remain in power”, he remarked.

Prada indicated that the model that “is from the past” is the neoliberal one, because seeks economic growth that is not accompanied by the reduction of poverty and inequalities or by income redistributionwhich allows the concentration of wealth in a few hands.

“This is not a dance of numbers, as they have made known in some speeches, it is about concrete realities, about improving the quality of life of millions of Boliviansof the improvement of income, of the generation of stability, certainty and hope for Bolivian families”, he maintained.

The Minister of the Presidency stressed that the productive community economic and social model was designed by Bolivians for Bolivians and that It has been applied since the current president Luis Arce occupied the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance in 2006.

“Our economic model, poorly explained, misunderstood by some people, at no time cancels the private activity” he pointed.

Prada explained that the government’s economic model generated in Santa Cruz an unprecedented average growth of 5.2% since 2006, as well as positive effects on other indicators such as nominal GDP, the number of companies and sales of restaurants and supermarkets.

The productive community social economic model created the conditions for sustained economic growth in Santa Cruz, so that companies can develop in peace, with the necessary conditions to generate employment and comprehensive development in society”, he asserted.

“For 20 years, the neoliberal model showed a resounding failure because unfortunately it never solved the structural problems of our country, of giving better living conditions to the poorest people and to sectors historically relegated,” said the minister.
