The federal government is holding today (19) the auction of two terminals in the Port of Santos (SP) and one in the Port of Imbituba, in Santa Catarina. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) will grant the private sector the STS08 and STS08A areas, in the port of São Paulo, and the IMB 05 on the coast of Santa Catarina. The winner will be the one with the highest award value.
In Santos, two areas are available for moving, storing and distributing liquid bulk (fuels). The concession period is 25 years. At the Imbituba Port Complex (IMB05) the areas to be leased are for the movement of liquid bulk fuels or chemicals, mainly from Maceió, in Alagoas, to supply companies located in the southern region.
According to information from the Ministry of Infrastructure, the leasing of the terminals will guarantee nearly R$ 1 billion in private investments throughout the contracts and the generation of more than 16 thousand jobs. The auction is part of Super Infra and will take place on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, the B3, at 11 am.
