The Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, reported yesterday, Wednesday the 31st, that the retail prices of gasoline and diesel will be lowered by two and four pesos, respectively, starting on June 1.
The measure, announced in the Executive Tower, responds to the reduction registered during the last month in import parity prices after several months of stability.
With these measures, the price of Super gasoline will drop to a maximum of 69.89 pesos for sale to the public, while that of Diesel 50S will stand at 52.99 pesos per liter at the pump.
“It is the third reduction so far this year,” Delgado said at a press conference, which he considered very good news. In addition, he recalled that during 2022 the price of diesel was below the import parity (PPI), based on the measure adopted by the Government, through Law No. 19,889, urgently considered.
In the case of gasoline, the PPI continues above the value set for sale to the public. The supergas, meanwhile, will continue without changes, due to the persistence of a significant gap with respect to the PPI, which is absorbed by Ancap.
