GNB dug up 21 marijuana plants on a farm

A total of 21 marijuana plants were seized in the Campo Alegre mountainous sector, Antonio Pinto Salinas municipality (Santa Cruz de Mora), Mérida state, according to military sources.

The marijuana plantation was inside the La Vinagrera farm, whose search was carried out in response to an investigation initiated by the Public Ministry based on complaints and which was signed with the number MP-56570-2023., according to a report from the Regional Unit of Anti-drug Intelligence (Uria) 22 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

In the aforementioned farm, the military obtained the 21 marijuana plants and proceeded to unearth them. They also located 33 seeds of that plant as well as nine 50-kilo bags each, for a total weight of 450 kilos of urea, a substance used for drug processing, the minutes refer.

During the procedure, Horacio Rivas Márquez was detained, who was handed over to the Public Ministry for prosecution for illicit trafficking of seeds and toxic drug plants.

Uria 22 continues the investigations to determine the location of the group that maintains the modality of drug cultivation in Mérida. They presume that they are small distributors who decided to become independent from the Colombian drug dealer groups located on the border.
