General Torres Robiou seeks to leave Najayo where he is serving preventive detention

General Juan Carlos Torres Robiou, who is serving preventive detention after his involvement in the corruption case called Coral 5G, filed an appeal for a higher court to order his release from prison.

The former director of the Specialized Body for Tourist Security (Cestur) has already been imprisoned for more than a month in the Najayo-Men Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in San Cristóbal, and is now seeking to have the coercion measure imposed on him last December changed. Through his lawyers, the accused deposited the brief before the Court of Appeal of the National District, a court that can confirm the preventive detention or revoke it. Now, the Court must set a hearing date to hear Torres Robiou’s appeal.

In addition to Torres Robiou, Generals Boanerges Reyes Batista and Julio Camilo De los Santos Viola, former deputy directors of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep), are serving preventive detention in Najayo, as well as Major José Rosario, Captain Franklin Mata and Colonel Yehudy. Guzman.

Judge Romero Romero also placed house arrest on Colonel Miguel Ventura Pichardo (FARD), Esmeralda Ortega Polanco, César Félix Ramos Ovalle, First Lieutenant Jehohanan Lucía Rodríguez Jiménez, and Lieutenant Colonel Erasmo Roger Pérez Núñez.
