Gavidia appoints former Secretary General of Pedro Castillo as Defense Advisor

who presented his letter of resignation from the position of Minister of Defense six days ago, continues to sign resolutions to appoint trusted officials in his sector, while the Government has not confirmed his departure from the position and his eventual replacement.

The published in the legal regulations bulletin of El Peruano on August 23, contains the appointment of Jorge Ricardo Alva Coronado in the position of advisor III of the Ministerial Office in the Ministry of Defense.

It should be remembered that Alva Coronado was Secretary General of the Presidential Office of Pedro Castillo from March 15 to August 5 of this year, when he presented his letter of resignation.

The Defense resolution details that the appointment has the approval of the General Secretariat, the General Directorate of Human Resources and the General Office of Legal Counsel of the ministry.

On August 17, José Luis Gavidia submitted his irrevocable resignation from the position of Defense Minister to Pedro Castillo.

“I will continue serving the country from the trench that touches me”said the outgoing official, who has been implicated in two tax investigations for alleged irregularities on an official trip accompanied by relatives and for hiring his daughter in the State when he was already a minister.
