The Police unleashed the gasification of the coca growers of Los Yungas in the middle of the houses of the Periférico avenue that is located to the northwest of the city of La Paz. The Police did not measure the effects in private homes and released gases at close range to the top where the coca growers are.
This Monday the peasants changed their strategy and they divided their column into three, the first went down Ramiro Castillo Avenue, which is the main exit and entry route to La Paz; the second column divided and went up towards Periférico avenue, it is an access road for heavy transport to the north of the department.
The main march was located a few meters from the police that guard the 1st street of Villa El Carmen and there was no conflict greater than the refrains and shouts of the peasants who demand the closure of the parallel market that Arnold Alanes opened.
The conflict arose at the top, The Police advanced towards the coca growers, they shouted at them from above and threw stones, then the uniformed officers launched the gas in the middle of the houses and several grenades that were thrown entered private homes; but the gasification is sterile, as the coca growers immediately regroup and throw stones downwards.
Police can’t win the top of the avenue because the coca growers continue to climb in their flight and throw stones again. The authorities concentrated forces in Miraflores, Villa Fátima and the Peripheral.
