The presidential spokesperson, Gabriela Cerruti, along with national government officials and Argentine and Ibero-American leaders, launched the campaign #HisNameIvanin order to raise awareness about the human rights of transsexual people to live according to their self-perceived identity and alert about the treatment that some media gave to the case of the Argentine brothers who died in a town in Catalonia.
“Iván was the name that one of the 12-year-old Argentine twins who threw himself from the balcony in Barcelona wanted to be called,” the spokeswoman for the Presidency tweeted on her @gabicerru account.
And I add: “Iván was one more victim of bullying and transodio, transodio with which many media told the news denying his identity.”

“We found out from the letter he wrote that he was being bullied because he had decided to call himself Iván, as if it were a crime. This unfortunately does not happen only in Spain, but throughout the world,” he said last Saturday Gustavo Lima, grandfather of Leila and Iván, the 12-year-old twins that last Tuesday they fell from the third floor of an apartment located in the town of Sallent, Barcelona.
Local media confirmed that the children suffered bullying, which became one of the axes of the investigation carried out by the Barcelona Police.
In addition to Cerruti, they participate in the #SeLlamabaIván campaign Irene Montero, Isa Serra, Rita Bosaho, Ione Bellara, Ángela Rodríguez, Rita Segato, Toni Morillas, Irina Karamanos, Boti Rodrigo, Victoria Rosell and Manuela Dávila.
All of them are some of the officials and leaders who participated in the 2023 International Feminist Meeting, which was held between February 24 and 26 in Madrid, organized by the Ministry of Equality of the Spanish Government.
