The G7 foreign ministers on Friday showed their support for Ukraine “until victory” against Russia, in the words of France, and the European Union announced an additional aid of 500 million euros (520 million dollars) to kyiv.
“It’s very important right now to keep the pressure on [el presidente ruso] Vladimir Putin supplying more weapons to Ukraine and increasing sanctions” against the Kremlin, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss said at this G7 meeting in Wangels, northern Germany.
“G7 unity was vital during this crisis to protect freedom and democracy and we will continue to work together to do so,” he added.
His French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian guaranteed kyiv the support of the G7 members “until victory”.
“We will continue to permanently support Ukraine’s fight for its sovereignty, until victory,” Le Drian declared.
During the meeting, the European Union’s chief diplomat announced that the bloc would provide an additional 500 million euros (about 520 million dollars) in military aid to Ukraine, bringing the total EU contribution “to 2,000 million euros”, some 2,077 million dollars.
