Ricardo Villavicencio, general director of Hydrocarbons of the Minem, said that Petroperú began downloading gas from Friday to this week. In addition, he mentioned that inventories and volumes in the plant should be progressively increased. With this, the fuel supply is already being regularized.
“The supply of diesel and gasoline is recovering the inventories in the plants and it is being reflected in the service stations. That is to say, the problem that we had at the beginning of last week with a feeling of shortages today no longer exists”, stated in an interview with Canal N.
“With the measures, it is already being verified that inventories are recovering and returning to normal,” stressed.
On the other hand, he mentioned that it is estimated that the following week the fuel will be restored in the most remote areas.
Regarding the rise in prices, he maintained that it is due to various factors and services of the stations. “There is a free market, that is, prices are not regulated. A particular service station may decide that it has made a stronger investment, which is why it transfers a different price to consumers.
Also, “It may be that the service offered by an establishment is different and that is also reflected in the rates.”
Finally, he said that in some cases one could speak of speculation on the rise in fuel prices and in others, it is an opportunity cost.
