Before the second electoral round in Chile, which will be held this Sunday, December 19, the Broad Front Political Committee issued a statement in which it pronounces on the candidates.

“The FA expresses its support for the candidacy of comrade Gabriel Boric for the presidency of the Republic of Chile, understanding that it represents the continuity of the process of the massive social mobilizations of the people, which among other aspects, achieved the convocation and operation of a Constituent Assembly, to definitively leave Augusto Pinochet’s constitution behind ”, indicates the left-wing coalition.

Extreme Right Candidates

On the other hand, the Frente Amplio express their concern “at the rise of far-right candidacies, such as that of José Antonio Kast, who embody old reminiscences of a conservative, violent and fragmented society.”

The left-wing coalition wants the Chilean people to express themselves freely with broad participation, “to achieve consolidation of the advancement of a political project in unity of the left and progressive forces, to build a democratic, welfare and equal state.”
