Free Movement Alex Saab bets on the release of the diplomat on December 12

This Monday, in the Café en la Mañana program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the spokesperson for the Free Alex Saab Movement, Roi López, commented that the hearing will be held on December 12 where it will be defined whether or not his diplomatic immunity to secure his release.

In this sense, Roi López expressed that during the kidnapping of the Venezuelan diplomat “the trial has been delayed and that there is much evidence that reinforces the character and immunity of the diplomat, so we have everything in favor for Alex Saab to be released.”

On the other hand, he highlighted the support and solidarity they have received, especially in social networks from countries such as Malaysia, China, Canada, Cape Verde, among others; as well as social and political movements.

Meanwhile, López assured that they will continue to be deployed through street activities to demand the release of the diplomat.

It should be remembered that Saab was illegally detained in Cape Verde on June 12, 2020, despite having diplomatic immunity. He was tortured and held incommunicado in a prison in the African country. Then, last October, they handed him over to the US, which requested his deportation, despite the fact that Cape Verde does not have an extradition treaty with Washington.
