With a very bad performance, which culminated in a missed penalty by forward Fred at the end, Fluminense drew 0-0 with Unión Santa Fe (Argentina), at the Maracanã stadium this Tuesday (26), for the third round of group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.

After this result, Tricolor is in 3rd position in the Group H classification of the competition with four points. The leadership belongs to the Argentine team, which has one more point.
With the ball rolling, Fluminense presented very little, and at no time did it give the impression that it could win. However, in the second half stoppage time, the team led by coach Abel Braga had a great opportunity to secure the victory, when the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Tricolor after the ball touched striker Juárez’s hand inside the area in the 47th minute.
Five minutes later, after much discussion, Fred took the penalty at half height and goalkeeper Mele stretched out to defend and ensure the final tie.
Now, Fluminense focuses on the Brazilian, where they face Coritiba on Sunday (1). For Sudamericana, the next match is against Junior Barranquilla (Colombia), on Wednesday of next week (4).
Internacional victory
Another team to enter the field for the Copa Sudamericana was Internacional, which defeated Independiente Medellín (Colombia) 1-0 at the Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium, in Pereira.

The victory, which was achieved thanks to a goal by the German striker in the eighth minute of the second half, left Colorado in the lead of Group E, with five points.
Internacional will play for the competition again next week, when they visit Guaireña in Paraguay.
