Los Angeles United States. After putting on a heavily criticized first show, R&B singer Frank Ocean will not perform on the second weekend of the Coachella festival due to a leg injury, his publicist announced Wednesday.

Ocean was injured before participating on Sunday in the first weekend of the great festival of music in California. And though she did perform, the highly anticipated set started an hour late and received negative feedback from audiences and music critics.
“After sustaining a leg injury on the festival grounds in the week leading up to the opening weekend, Frank Ocean was unable to perform his planned show, but remained intent on performing, and within 72 hours, the show had to be redone. ”the artist’s publicist told AFP.
“Under medical recommendation, Frank Ocean will not be able to perform the second weekend due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
He coachella festival takes place in the town of Indio, California, over two consecutive three-day weekends.
During the Ocean set, which closed out the first round of Coachella concerts, the singer kept his distance from the audience to sing his hit “Novacane,” taking long breaks between songs like “Crack Rock” and “White Ferrari”.
The media were not allowed to photograph the event, nor were the organizers to broadcast in real time on social media. Ocean ended his presentation abruptly by saying: “Gentlemen, I have been told that it is time to finish, so this is the end of the concert.”
Magazine Variety described the performance as a “messy, limp, borderline disaster that will probably go down in history as one of the most controversial Coachella shows.”
In a statement released by Ocean’s publicists on Wednesday, the singer said: “It was chaotic. There is beauty in chaos”.
“It wasn’t the show I intended to do, but I enjoyed being here and I’ll see you guys soon.”
According to Variety, Ocean will be replaced by blink-182.
The pop-punk trio surprised fans over the weekend with the original band’s first performance in nearly a decade.
The show had been announced two days earlier.
Coachella representatives did not immediately respond to AFP’s requests for information.
