Yesterday, the People’s Force elected 20 women, out of a total of 100 candidates, as new members of its highest management body, thus joining that body to Ligia Amada Melo.
“With the 21 members in the political leadership of the People’s Forcethe party becomes the one with the greatest female integration, compared to a PLD that barely has 8 and a PRM that has 12”, expresses the political party in a document.
In a first round of the voting process of the electoral assembly carried out by the Fuerza del Pueblo party, six women from that organization were chosen.
Keyla Reyna, deputy secretary of communications and in charge of networks, was chosen with 618 votes for 57.28%; while the deputy of the country Noris Medina obtained 587 votes, for 54.4%; Similarly, the also deputy of the country and president of constituency 3 of Santo Domingo Este, Adalgiza Pujols, obtained 580, for 53.75%.
In that same order, the secretary of the Women of the FP, Angee Brook, reached 553 votes, for 51.25% and the also secretary, but of education, Josefina Pimentel, obtained 551 votes, 51.07%. Another deputy from the country who reaches the Political Directorate of the FP is the general secretary of that in Santiago, Altagracia González, who obtained 543 votes, for 50.32%.
Second round
In the second round of voting, the delegates gathered in the Volleyball Pavilion of the Olympic Center chose, in order of the results obtained, the 14 most voted, these are Juana Sánchez, Mery Valerio, Yudelka de la Rosa, Alexandra Peña, Johanny Guzmán, Enriqueta Rojas (Sweet), Ana García Caba and Ycelmary Brito O’Nea (Juliana).
In addition, Lourdes Aybar, Gisela Romero, Liseloth Arias, Nélsida Marmolejos, Ivannia Rivera and Ruth Méndez, are the 14 who join the six chosen in the first round.
