Four of 10 MSMEs had falls in production at the end of 2021

The Guild of small, micro and medium entrepreneurs (Acopi), delivered the results of his Business Performance Survey (EDE) for the fourth quarter of the year 2021.

Acopi pointed out that, between October and December of last year, four out of ten entrepreneurs saw their production affected.

According to the survey, 39.4% of the entrepreneurs surveyed reported a decrease in this indicator, while the 33.8% asserts that production was maintained and for 26.8% it increased.

Likewise, when making a historical comparison of the level of production, for the last quarter of 2019, in the last year before the pandemic, 16% of MSME entrepreneurs stated that they perceived a decrease, a figure that increased by 26 percentage points, reaching 42% in the last quarter of 2020.

In terms of sales, the outlook for the last quarter of the year was similar. 40.1% of the entrepreneurs stated that their sales decreased, 28.5% were maintained and for 31.5% they increased.

Taking into account the history of this indicator, there have been significant variations in which 13% of entrepreneurs reported a decrease in the fourth quarter of 2019, a figure that increased by 31.6 percentage points, reaching 44.6% in the last quarter of 2020.
