Four fishermen from La Guaira disappeared

Since Sunday, four fishermen who sailed from Catia La Mar last Saturday, July 2, have been missing. They were expected to return from work on Sunday, but so far they have not, and communication with the fishermen has not been established.

According to report of The Salitre Salt Flatthe crew, made up of Captain Ronald Malavé and sailors Luis Guarena, Jon Manama and Juan De Mata, left the La Zorra fishing pier on Saturday at one in the afternoon, in a peñero-type boat called “El Pirulo” with destination to the El Placer area, La Guaira state.

Concerned about the boat’s delay to port, the owner, Raúl Andrade, declared this Monday to Vargas Reporta that “They had to go fishing with longlines to Los Caracas and return yesterday, Sunday, at 12 noon. But they haven’t arrived.”

fishermen from the area planned to go out to sea this Tuesday to try to locate the peñero and his crew.
