The lawyer Salim Zaidán resigned from the application to renew the Constitutional Court. He had two citizen challenges.
Once the time to present the citizen challenges against the aspiring to renew the Constitutional court, the Qualifying Commission pointed out that there are four accusations against three candidates.
Two were directed against Salim zaidán, which was part of the shortlist sent by the Legislative. He resigned this Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from the selection process.
In a letter, he indicated that he warns of “little political will to conform a Constitutional Court that guarantees rights while respecting competences and procedures. The aforementioned can be seen in the formation of shortlists, in the insistence on presenting candidates who did not meet the most basic requirement of professional experience ”.
He also alleged that groups have resorted to “scandal and light accusations” in the challenges. He said that even in the accusations they have interfered even with family members. “What I will not allow is my daughter being exposed in a challenge. I ask the commissioners to ensure that the best interests and rights of my daughter be respected ”. This is due to his position of defending co-parenting.
How base to put a girl to attack her father.

The other challenges were filed against Bárbara Terán, who is a member of the shortlist of the Presidency and Jorge Sosa, of the Transparency Function.
The president of the Qualifying Commission, Vanessa Aguirre, indicated that the process will continue with the eight remaining candidates, after the resignation of Zaidán.
She regretted that the lawyer had not made use of his right to defense in order to respond to the challenges. The rest of the challenged will have five days to answer the allegations in writing and will defend themselves in a public hearing. (DPV)
