After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, emphasized that the meeting endorsed the joint declaration made by the Foreign Ministers to resume the 2021 roadmap for dialogue and good relations. “We talked about some issues of bilateral concern, for example, the migration issue. It is an issue that the President raised very clearly with Bolivia and we are going to see, in the coming weeks, being able to set up a working table, which existed before, to be able to look at the migration issue, but not only at the bilateral level. What we are talking about is also looking at the migration issue at the multilateral level, the concern of the Presidents is that the solution to the migration crisis requires more countries in the region”, she stated.

After this, the Secretary of State mentioned that they will seek a meeting of South American Foreign Ministers to deal specifically with the issue of migration. “I have to see if we do it within the framework of what is the South American Migration Conference, where Venezuela and the other Latin American countries are, or if we do an ad hoc meeting with the same countries, depending on the agenda of this conference,” he stressed. the minister.

In addition, the meeting addressed the issue of lithium, where the Foreign Minister said that, as with Argentina, bilateral talks were resumed on “how we can work together on lithium, which is a very strategic natural resource in these times and how we border countries can work on these issues”.
