“For Dionisio you have to be a clown to do politics”

Former senator Hugo Estigarribia responded to Dionisio Amarilla, stating that for him you have to be a clown to do politics, recalling that the great figures of Paraguayan politics were serious and intellectual.

Dionisio Amarilla gave his opinion yesterday for 1020 AM about the possible doubt of Efraín Alegre, president of the PLRA, and Hugo Estigarribia. “This would be the Miss Congeniality duo,” he said ironically.

“It turns out that for Dionisio you have to be a clown, it was to do politics,” Estigarribia said in response to these statements, also for 1020 AM.

Within the point, he stressed that it is important to be serious and not have a reputation for corruption, because one should not lose the investiture of senator or have a reputation for having stolen from a university, which is more important.

Finally, he referred that “if we continue doing business with the State” the country will not change. On the other hand, about a possible tag with Efraín, he said that “what we are talking about is the integration of dissident colorados with everything that happens in the Party and the Government. We are tired of this image of a Colorado bandit, corrupt, smuggler, money launderer that foists on us all.”
