For alleged corruption, AN-2020 will investigate three mayors of Táchira

AN defers second discussion of the reform to the Insurance Activity Law

William Camachodeputy of the National Assembly (AN) for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) reported that he will take before the permanent commission of the Comptroller of Parliament a request for an investigation against three mayors of the state of Táchira, for alleged irregularities during his current administration.

“We request that the investigation be carried out on Mayor Jackson Carrillo of the Junín municipality; to the mayor of the San Judas Tadeo municipality, Salvador Pérez, and to the mayor of the Capacho Viejo municipality, Cliver Becerra, for some administrative irregularities in his management,” Camacho explained.

He explained that, once this petition was approved in plenary of the subcommission for the control of public expenses and funds of the municipal Executive power, which has already begun to consult with the Prosecutor’s Office and the Comptroller’s Office of the Táchira state about some other details that may be had regarding these three mayors, will go to the Comptrollership Commission of the AN so that it can carry out the respective investigation.

“If the fact of corruption is proven, the Venezuelan State through the courts of the Public Ministry will charge the corresponding crimes according to the laws,” said the AN-2020 deputy.

Among the few details he mentioned about the investigation, he stressed that the mayor of Junín, Jackson Carrillo, will be investigated for allegedly receiving tax resources in foreign currency and not being declared. While to Salvador Pérez, from San Judas Tadeo, for not canceling the resources of wages and salaries to the workers of the municipal comptroller’s office; and Cliver Becerra, for various irregularities.
