The congressman of the caucus of Peru Libre alex flowers spoke about the calls for the resignation of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, by the opposition and the possibility of new general elections. The parliamentarian pointed out that he is willing for the Executive and the Legislative to leave, but asked that the president first convene a constituent assembly.
“General elections could take place in the event that Congress and the Executive cannot reach urgent solutions. I fully agree that we must think about the country that needs great reforms, great solutions, solve the issue of employment, the economy and the popular sector, “he said in dialogue with RPP.
“It must be clear that if the right-wing parties are going to continue with this intransigent position from Congress, and they are going to want to continue with this coup vacancy, and if it happens, let’s all go, it’s good that there are new elections, but the president must first call a constituent assembly”, added the parliamentarian.

In that sense, Flores pointed out that the last elections have been “particular” due to the expectations that there were for the implementation of a “popular government”. Therefore, he assured that the Executive has not been able to make a series of urgent changes due to the obstruction of the right by not recognizing Pedro Castillo as president.
